Ordination to the Priesthood: The Rev. Frank Condello II

[Chronicle, December 22, 2022]  On Saturday, December 10, 2022, a journey that began over five years ago, culminated with a service of ordination held at the Cathedral of St. Andrew.  Frank Condello II, joined by family, friends and associates, was ordained into the Priesthood by the Rt. Rev. Robert Fitzpatrick.
"It was truly a beautiful and inspiring day," said Condello, "I could feel the Holy Spirit present with us, along with the Royal Sovereigns looking down on us at the Cathedral."

The Rev. Frank Condello was beaming after the service as he was inundated with lei and congratulations.  Following the service, a lunch reception was held in Davies Hall.

Father Frank's journey to the priesthood officially began in August 2017, through the Diocese's local formation program, Waiolaihui'ia (now called the Waiolaihui'ia Center for Ministry or WCM).  His story was shared in an earlier Chronicle issue (see "A Personal Journey to Ordination" - May 12, 2022) when he was ordained to the transitional diaconate as part of the process to become a priest.  Because of COVID, he faced particular challenges that required innovative ways of studying and interning, including the help of alumni from the program.

My ordination was very special. Friends and family from my Criminal Justice career and the many congregations I have connected with and served over the years [were there].  I was very humbled by the support I received. I am so grateful for the Waiolaihui'ia local formation program that gave me the opportunity to pursue ordained ministry and the local clergy that taught the classes, mentored me, and supported me over the years. I am eager to serve the Diocese and the people of Hawai'i as a humble servant of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  ~ Fr. Frank

Congratulations Father Frank!
