2021 ECW ANNUAL MEETING

[E-Chronicle, November 10, 2021] The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) held their annual meeting for the second time via Zoom, due to the pandemic. There were ten ladies who gathered virtually on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
It was wonderful to see those who were able to attend, but we all surely missed seeing each other in person. (God willing, my Sisters, we may all be together in 2022).
The morning began with President Louise Aloy opening the meeting with morning prayer. The 2020 minutes were reviewed and approved by those in attendance. Financial Reports and the 2022 Budget were accepted.
Committee reports were presented and Louise shared United Thank Offering (UTO) information on UTO Memorial Trust Fund. We are still looking for a UTO Chairperson for our Diocese. Sandy Leialoha gave an overview of a CPC Triennial meeting (via Zoom) in June. New officers were elected and sworn in. Joanne Mahuka presented a report on Daughters of the King (DOK) Fall Assembly via Zoom in November. Attendees were given an opportunity to share how their churches were doing and we also learned of various ministries to serve the wider community.
The Diocesan Altar Guild (DAG) has been inactive for years. Louise stated, "We are very grateful for all they have sewn and created for many churches and clergy, including Bishops, and for their many years of service to DAG." Fr. Moki Hino assisted with screen sharing of photos from the DAG photo album that was found in the altar guild closet at the Cathedral. The album will be forwarded to Stuart Ching (Diocesan Historian) for safekeeping.
Aligning with this year’s Convention theme: “Remembering those that have gone before,” we remembered the faithful members of the DAG, many who have since passed and gone to be with our Heavenly Father. Members mentioned in some of the photos were Geraldine Tom, Bernice Tawarahara, Kishiyo Kawano (Eugenia Park’s mother from Makiki Christian Church) and Elsie Ching. What an ecumenical group these ladies were! Bless their hearts! ❤
