Blessing of the Animals 2020

For many, honoring St. Francis of Assisi and the Blessing of the Animals that takes place on the first Sunday in October, is a special service when owners and their beloved pets can worship together. Some churches make it an event with pet-friendly goodies and activities with the St. Francis theme, but church life during a pandemic has had to adjust and adapt, including our schools. Pictured above, the Honolulu Police Department brought their K-9 Unit to be blessed in The Cathedral during the St. Andrew's Schools first K-12 Chapel of the year held over Zoom.
